Apart from struggling against a flood of rivals, they must fend off new competitions from online stores and mainstream retail chains, such as Wal-Mart and Costco. Also, the increasingly diverse demographic and growing changes in customers’ taste have left the grocery markets deeply fragmented, imposing significant threats to the traditional sales style.
