For a moment, it felt like Canada had found a leader who could bridge divides and lead with integrity.

Canadians were dismayed to learn that their Prime Minister, who had campaigned on transparency and integrity, had accepted free luxury accommodations from someone whose organization lobbied the government for funding. It was a stark reminder that even the most promising leaders could falter when it came to accountability.

Wilson-Raybould’s subsequent demotion and resignation underscored Trudeau’s willingness to prioritize corporate interests over justice.

At a time when inflation was soaring and families were struggling to make ends meet, this wasteful spending underscored a government detached from the realities of ordinary Canadians.

For someone like me, who came from a country where corruption and wasteful spending were deeply entrenched, Trudeau’s actions were both a painful reminder and a sharp disappointment.
